Keep the fascists out!

That would seem an extraordinary headline to my father who thought Hitler and his ilk had been wiped out by people like him in the war. Still Hitler's heirs, the BNP, are standing for election in the Euro elections and such is the distrust of conventional politicians they may pick up some misguided protest votes.

The NUT policy on this is perfectly clear. The NUT does not endorse any political party but it is opposed to racism and fascism. In this election there are many alternatives including the trade union sponsored "No 2 EU Yes to Democracy" campaign. What we do not want is Hitler's heirs representing us in Europe.

John Tyndall, the BNP founder, was proud of his Nazi uniform.
